Folklore and the Cosmos The Kuna of Panama and the Aborigine of Australia.

In this exciting and wondrous exploration of many countries around the world and in blending two indigenous cultures (The Kuna of Panama and the Aborigine of Australia). The assignment here is for a study of two different cultures unrelated and unfamiliar to one another and to draw from each of them styles and approach, something of the students' own creation. What is stunningly brilliant is how similar they all are in form and content and yet the tools are very different. My students were given the task to blend the two art forms and translate it into a visual format. I was simply amazed by the beauty and the talent displayed by the students. For me this year was awesome. I came to realize that if there is one thing that I can pass on to my classes is the ability to "accomplish anything" that they have all the tools they need right here. (While Mr. Munoz points to his brain.)
