Watercolor Paintings with the twist of Aborigine and Mola style influence

2014 School year is moving very fast and reaching a conclusion to bring in yet another year.  Like many of the of my class assignment, I will always demonstrate and make samples to show the wide range of possibilities that can be achieved. Students are reminded that it's only their imagination is the limit of endless possibilities. As for these samples it is only a point of where they can start and I welcome the interpretation each student brings to their own work.

Thinking in the process of beginning engineering


Thinking in the process of beginning engineering. Every stage is set, from start-up to completion of an assignment. Student learning a step by step a multitude of 
Learning new skills and disciplines or recognizing a process that is familiar, but has not been pointed out as a form of thinking until it has been challenged through a task /exercises.
here Students are asked to measure specific measurements in preparing the assignment with incremental borders 1/2",1/8",1/4" in order to start the assignment in picture #1 you'll see measurements of 1/2" and 1/8" increments the you'll see the shading which is shaded in a pattern from top to bottom and sequentially from bottom to top if you look carefully you will notice that the shading is repeated so that the common exercise of managing and mastering the use of a pencil and drawing from dark to light

in this next exercise #2 as a class using the similar stages as in #1 with the addition of now not only separating the segments vertically but also horizontally therefore creating a pattern also I might add the student is now becoming aware of the tonalities and differences in shading by drawing in each square the corresponding shade adding a dimensional awareness to the task

in this next exercise the assignment now is increased in a more dynamic exploration of drawing awareness these although similar in execution has now the addition to a more organic treatment rather than mechanical application by introducing curves drawn freehand in #3.

This exercise #4 incorporates all of the above and now is both organic and mechanical. I was well impressed by the students "learning curve" in achieving the  basic principle of drawings in the uses of a pencil and it's complexities of it materials by these exercises. The students that were able to pay close attention to the processes and stages of tasks learned a great amount of the foundation from which great things can be achieved. In all my classes, great job! And more importantly for hanging in there guys!
